Thank You Kāpiti
Saturday's election results dragged on and, the longer it took, the more our social media registered the exasperation of some people. But the preliminary results did finally surface. I would like to thank the people of Kāpiti. The people's confidence in giving you a second term is a public vote of support for what was delivered in the first term. I like to thank all the councillors and community board members who made the last term a good and robust one. There are also members of our volunteer community selflessly working through a range of community organisations who make Kāpiti a great place. In my three years as Mayor, I have met so many of you to realise the depth of your commitment to making Kāpiti a better place. You make the job of elected members less onerous. You made my job as Mayor less onerous. Thank you.
